With the 58 Edsel convertible at Hurst Body shop and the Posey sign in Hershey Pa at Jeff's Toy Box I thought I would show you yy Fall AACA Hershey swap meet find. This sweet little old lady won it and didn't even have a drivers license.
Everyone continues to ask about the Posey restaurant sign I purchased a little over a year ago.Why they ever put this beauty up in a helicopter is beyond me but I was very fortunate to meet her at the Edsel meet. Thanks for sharing your time and the memories Jo Jo.And yes she owns her fathers 1959 Edsel Corsair convertible. Starting with the King Midget Car Club, then the Ohio Edsel club endured just awful weather but Edsel folks are use to a little abuse.After only 2 months we have had over 500 visitors, 5 different organizations, from 35 Ohio Cities 9 states including Colorado, Pennsylvania, California, Indiana, Oklahoma, Washington, New Mexico, Missouri, and of course Ohio.We have plans for this fall and during the holidays so keep watching.There journalist and broadcast crew were legionary and included Mark Dailey, Jon Belmont, Joe Donovan, the late Byron Mac Gregor and of coarse Jo Jo Shutty Mac Gregor in the Big 8 traffic chopper.Jo Jo was Miss Teenage Detroit in the 60's and graduated from Michigan State in the early 70's.We had lots of help getting it brought back to life. Vasil printing did some vinyl lettering and the advertising glass, and then Dan Raley put on the finishing touches with some magical pin stripping and dated the two biggest Edsel events.Thanks also, to my buddy Mike Fagan with help moving this thing around too. The Sullivan's Toy Land sign discovered during a remodel of the Clady's Wallpaper and Paint building in July caught the interest of many locals.Pictured here is Edsel Dave Pliger of Sheffield Lake Ohio who drove his gorgeous 1959 Edsel Ranger into town and Left with our Best Orphan Car award.Other winners are Best of Show Richard Crary of Bucyrus 1963 Corvette, Chick's Pick Stan Garnes Worton Ohio, 1977 VW Camp Mobile, Jerry Lantz Memorial Award, Mike Ireton, Bucyrus 1971 Pontiac T37, Tim Miller of Tiro won the 60th Birthday Award with his 57 Chevy Pickup and our favorite 10 went to, Greg Kuhn 51 Ford F1, Jerry Koheiser 1937 Chevy Coupe, John Rindfuss 1955 Sunbeam Alpine, Nancy Russel 1940 Chevy Coupe, Betsy Moore 1968 Carmen Ghia, Dan Gerstenslager 1950Ford, Tom Wolford 1967 Corvette Stingray, Dale Dishong 1972 Nova, Tim Musselman 1964 Ford Galaxie, and Randy Pritchard 1969 Super Bee.
